Aktion Deutschland Hilft was founded as an association on 6 March 2001 and is an acknowledged charitable organisation. This new form of cooperation is a fitting way to confront the challenges of the time in the face of an increasing number of humanitarian catastrophes.

United to help reflects the wishes of the donors and strengthens their trust in the effectiveness of the relief organisations. Homogenous cooperation raises the competence of the aid given, the use of existing resources to a better degree and the bundle of a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience.

Germany's Relief Coalition requires strong partners from industry and the media to be able to introduce the need to a broader public and further develop the basic principles of the fund-raising campaign that is united, fast and able to help efficiently. Such a "pool of partners" can provide valuable support in fields, such as logistics and transport as well as the provision of materials, medicine and communication that are important for foreign aid.
