“Germany’s Relief Coalition” – the alliance of relief organisations

The purpose and aim of the cooperation on the one hand is to implement an even more effective use of your donations, and on the other to ease your decision of to whom you wish to donate.

 

Here following, the individual relief organisations introduce themselves and give an insight into their set up, working methods and fields of activity.

For 40 years action medeor, the German medicament relief organisation, has sent basic medicines and medical instruments to the poverty-stricken regions of the world and provides rapid emergency aid and disaster relief in acute situations.

ADRA Deutschland
ADRA Germany

The ADRA Germany registered association is a non-governmental, independent organisation of the Protestant Free Church of the Seventh Day Adventists and was founded in 1987. The abbreviation stands for Adventist Development and Relief Agency and carries out projects worldwide in development cooperation as well as providing humanitarian aid in cases of disaster.

Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund
Workers' Samaritan Federation

“Our mission is to help” – is the guiding principle of the Workers’ Samaritan Federation in Germany that was founded in 1888 by six carpenters in Berlin. Together with a group of dedicated physicians, they organised first-aid courses for workers in shops and factories to enable them to help themselves and others in emergency situations.

Arbeiterwohlfahrt International

Arbeiterwohlfahrt International  was founded in 1998 as a professional association of the Workers Welfare Organisation Arbeiterwohlfahrt. In 2005 Arbeiterwohlfahrt International also took over the development-cooperation projects from Arbeiterwohlfahrt.

CARE Deutschland -Luxemburg
CARE Germany-Luxemburg registered association

CARE (Cooperative for Assistance and Relief to Everywhere) was founded on 27 November 1945 in the United States. It started an exemplary relief programme for the inhabitants of a devastated post-war Europe, for whom the CARE package became a symbol.

HELP - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe

HELP – the help for self-help registered association is a German non-governmental relief organisation duly registered with the courts of law in Bonn. In the wake of the war in Afghanistan, and the ensuing refugee crises, members of all parties represented in the German Parliament and other distinguished personalities founded HELP in July 1981.

Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe
Johanniter International Assistance

Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe (JUH) was founded in 1952, and is represented by over 200 national, regional, and local associations throughout the Federal Republic of Germany. Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. is a registered association in accordance with German legislature and a professional association of “Diakonisches Werk” of the “Evangelical Church in Germany” (EKD).

World Vision Germany registered association

The WORLD VISION Germany registered association is an interdenominational Christian relief service and has been active since 1979. With a financial volume of more than 60 million euro, more than 201 projects were carried out in 46 countries in 2004. The focus was regional development projects through children’s sponsorships, which together with the assurance of nutrition also included medical care, education, business promotion and the combating of aids.
